Makassed Joins the International Maternal Newborn Health Conference in Cape Town
By In May 2023, a Lebanese delegation participated in the International Conference on Maternal and Newborn Health, held in Cape Town, South Africa.
The delegation was headed by Ms. Pamela Zogheib, Head of the Mother and Child Unit at the Ministry of Public Health and included Dr. Lama Charafeddine, Head of the National Committee for Newborn, Ms. Maguy Ghanem, representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Ms. Reem Rabah from Makassed, Dr. Rima Shaito, the Head of the Midwives Syndicate in Lebanon, Ms. Sabine Abdel Sater from UNICEF and Ms. Daniel Itani from the World Health Organization.
The delegation presented to more than 1,700 participants from across the world, the Lebanese reality and the implemented programs and work strategies.
