In commemoration of Lebanon’s 80th Independence Day, a delegation from Makassed, led by President Dr. Faisal Sinno and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees, Engineer Bassam Barghout, embarked on a meaningful journey.
The delegation first stopped at Nahr Al-Kalb, home to the Evacuation of Mandatory Forces Stelae, where they placed a huge bouquet of roses on the map of Lebanon. Next, they explored the breathtaking Jeita Grotto, welcomed by Dr. Nabil Haddad, the General Director.
They then visited the “Billy Karam Museum” in Zouk, where Billy Karam personally led them through his model car collection, a multiple-time Guinness World Record entry. Spanning over 14 rooms, the collection showcases over 37,777 cars, a testament to M. Karam’s passion.
Among the delegation were Board of Trustees members, including Engineer Bassam Barghout, Judge Maysam Al Nuwairi, Ms. Rula Al Ajouz Sidani and Mr. Hassan Al Bohsali, alongside Makassed Scouts, the Volunteer Unit and other members of the Makassed family.
Later, Dr. Sinno and Eng. Bargout hosted a luncheon in honor of the delegation.
Meanwhile, students and Makassed Scouts marched from Khaled Bin El Walid College to the shrine of Prime Minister Saeb Salam in Kaskas, laying floral wreaths presented by Makassed’s Vice President, Dr. Imad Itani, and former Prime Minister Tammam Salam, along with Minister of Environment Nasser Yassin. The march concluded with the rendition of the Lebanese national anthem by Makassed Scouts.
