Ward Al Makassed Center continues its tireless efforts to reach the forefront of empowering centers that offer training to vulnerable youth and women in a bid to improve their future by offering them professional skills that help them provide for their families. In addition, the center wishes to have a pioneering role in the neighborhood in hosting all kinds of events within its restaurant and hall.

From mid-June to September 2023, the Center launched a training course in sewing, in cooperation with the IECD (Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement). Also, for the fourth year in a row and in cooperation with UNICEF, the center is launching training courses in sewing, cooking, chocolate making, housekeeping, and nursery education.

The Center also cooperates with the Robert Moawad Foundation by providing hot meals to 150 families three days a week, as well as with Kanz Restaurant of Beit Al Baraka NGO who put Ward Al Makassed cheese maamoul on their menu.

On the other hand, cooperation continues with MEA who sells women’s accessories prepared by the trainees on their in-flight boutique and with a new line of handbags to be launched soon aboard MEA planes.

Meanwhile, frozen meals prepared at Ward Al Makassed will be sold at the Urban Market in Mina Al-Hosn area in Beirut.

The Center also organized a lunch on the occasion of Mother’s Day, with the proceeds going to cancer patients at Makassed General Hospital, as well as a breakfast for Makassed graduates of UNICEF courses and a honorary dinner for doctors who graduated from Makassed General Hospital.

Ward Al Makassed also catered the entirety of Makassed annual iftar and held several luncheons in its restaurant in honor of prominent figures such as the Makassed Board of Trustees, the Turkish Ambassador Ali Barish Ulusoyu, the coordinator of TIKA in Beirut, Onur Ghez, Dr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh, Mr. Ahmed Jawhar, and Minister of Information Ziad Makari.

The restaurant has also regularly been booked for private events and meetings.
