Ward Al Makassed Center, in cooperation with UNICEF, implemented intensive training courses aimed at empowering women and youth, providing them with essential skills and opportunities to shape their future and boost their self-esteem.

These courses, scheduled until 2025, offer a gateway to success and a pathway to a brighter future, making sure these marginalized groups are equipped with the tools needed to enhance their livelihoods.

Sewing and cooking courses were launched in October 2023, alongside a chocolate molding course launched in February 2024. Plans are underway to introduce additional courses in women’s beauty, housekeeping, childcare, and advanced sewing techniques. The projected impact of these courses is significant, with an estimated 160 individuals set to benefit from the program.

In collaboration with the IECD, a sewing course catering to women of all ages commenced in February 2024, offering valuable skills training over a two-month period.

Ward Al Makassed Center’s partnership with the Robert Moawad Foundation continues to make a tangible difference in the community by providing hot meals to 150 families three days a week. Additionally, through collaboration with Middle East Airlines (MEA), women’s bags crafted by the center’s artisans are sold onboard flights.

Furthermore, Ward Al Makassed Center’s food products are now available in Urban and Marqet supermarkets, expanding their reach and impact within the local community.

In celebration of the New Year’s holidays, Ward Al Makassed Shop in Mar Elias hosted an open day, inviting the community to explore its offerings and support the center’s endeavors.

Lastly, the Center hosted a lunch in recognition of the former Mufti of Tripoli and the North, Sheikh Malek Al-Shaar, of Mr. Kamel Tabbara, Mr. Ghaleb Daouk, and members of Makassed Board of Trustees.
