Strengthening Educational Partnerships for Professional Development and Innovation
Makassed Educational Affairs Department is proud to announce significant collaborations aimed at enhancing the professional development of its educators and fostering innovative teaching practices.
Firstly, a partnership has been forged with the Ministry of Education to provide training for 85 teachers from Makassed schools on the E-Twinning project. This initiative seeks to facilitate collaborative cross-subject classroom projects with local or European schools, enriching the learning experience for students and promoting cultural exchange.
In addition, Makassed has established a noteworthy collaboration with the Faculty of Education at the University of Saint Joseph in Beirut.
This partnership aims to strengthen ties between the two institutions and further professionalize the educational sector within Makassed. As part of this collaboration, a select group of 16 Makassed teachers, recognized for their expertise in delivering internal training, are currently enrolled in a rigorous “Training of Trainers” (TOT) program offered by USJ. This comprehensive program, running from January to May, is designed to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge in educational leadership and development. Topics covered include Needs Analysis, Training Plan Development, Learning Theories, Training Strategies, and Impact Evaluation.
By participating in the TOT program, Makassed educators not only demonstrate their commitment to professional growth but also contribute to the ongoing improvement of educational practices within the association. This initiative underscores the significance of the memorandum of understanding between Makassed and USJ, paving the way for continued collaboration and excellence in education.
Meanwhile, Ouzai school has entered into an agreement with Nafda Association for the implementation of the Scratch project for the year 2023-2024, under the mentorship of the principal of Khaled Bin El Walid School. The principal, appointed by Nafda, will oversee the training and execution of this project, enriching students’ learning experiences through innovative educational initiatives.
ESCWA has generously offered funding for the implementation of a project aimed at establishing a STEAM minilab within the school premises. This initiative seeks to enhance students’ educational experiences by providing practical and interactive learning opportunities across various STEAM disciplines. Equipped with state-of-the-art tools, equipment, and resources, the minilab will empower students to conduct experiments, explore innovative ideas, and engage in creative projects, fostering a culture of curiosity and innovation within the school community.
