Makassed’s Education Opting for Change

Achievements continue in Makassed’s educational sector at various levels, which reflects the seriousness, commitment and dedication of this sector until we reach a real educational renaissance, which we desperately need.

The Educational Research and Development Center took part in designing the General Framework of the Curriculum in Lebanon and in the Planning Committee at the Center for Educational Research and Development (CRDP).

Makassed’s Mrs. Souheir Zein was appointed as a member of the planning committee, while Dr. Ghina Al Badawi as a member of the higher committee of for curricula.

Makassed’s students also continued their innovative role, as Yasmina Chahine, KBWH student, has been selected by “the Royal Academy of Science International Trust”- (RASIT), as “the First Arab Girl” to present the vision of “Girls in Science” for sustainable development goals at “the 8th International Day of Women and Girls in Science Assembly”, that was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City on February 10th, 2023.

Yasmina presented her “invention” about using solar energy to solve the environmental problem of water pollution, and her invention shall be granted a patent.

Technological pioneers at Omar Ben Al Khattab College implemented a new application entitled: “Offline Quizzing App,” which was applied by Mr. Bassam Itani and the Math teachers at OBK.

This app has been adopted in all Makassed schools and for all cycles and subjects.

Yara Hallik, KBWH original student, published an article in the “L’Orient Le Jour” newspaper. The article highlights the economic challenges faced by the university students in Lebanon.

In addition, nine administrators and teachers from the Ouzai School obtained a Cenacle de la Lumiere (CDLL) certificate on disorders that affect youngsters and adolescents and the role of the school in treating it.
