Makassed a Forerunner in Education, Competitions

The Department of Educational Affairs, and Makassed’s teachers and students, with their high energy levels, education and glamour always manage to prove themselves in all educational and scientific fields, and in various competitions and lectures. Their participation makes a positive impact wherever they set foot.

Edu-Cater Pro exhibited its services during the SchoolTech Exhibition that was held at Movenpick hotel in Beirut.

The Services include: Providing training, consultancy, and research.

The Educational Research and Development Center also conducted eight interactive workshops, targeting the members of the Coordinators’ Council. These workshops focused on:

– Al Makassed instructional design;

– Interdisciplinary projects implementation and evaluation mechanisms;

– Differentiated supervision;

– Consolidation of higher order thinking skills.

On the other hand, SAWA Counseling Unit organized a “Cybercrime” lecture, which was held for Makassed secondary students to raise awareness about the dangers that they may be exposed to while using the Internet.

The lecture was presented by Captain Ayman Taj El-Din, from the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces.

Meanwhile, Makassed’s Learning Abilities Center participated in forming a draft of the national inclusive education policy based on the sessions conducted by Ministry of Education & Higher Education (MEHE) in collaboration with UNICEF.

The Learning Abilities Center also conducted a workshop to teachers at Makassed Al Marj School about differentiated learning by our special educators as part of NAFDA project.

The Learning Abilities Center also organized an awareness session to Al Makassed Al Marj school parents entitled “How to handle kids’ behavior”

Makassed Akkar Al Attika organized a visit for Cycle 2 students to the “Institut Francais de Tripoli”, where they had the chance to visit the media library and to benefit from the resources found in it

In Sports

The Sports and Activities Unit organized the General Makassed Tournament for the intermediate and secondary levels in Beirut schools on Friday, January 27, 2023, and Saturday, January 28, 2023. The winners are:

• For the female volleyball category for middle and high school

First place: Khaled Bin Al Walid College

Second place: Lycee Khadija Al Kubra

• Male volleyball for middle and high school

First place: Khaled Bin Al Walid College

Second place: Omar Bin Al Khattab College

• Female basketball for the intermediate stage

Competitions, achievements and exhibitions

From the shy student to the outgoing popular kids, all fifth graders magically expressed themselves in mid-year “Dance by CLES” performance. The program is funded by CLES in collaboration with New York Dance Institute.

It should be noted that the program is concerned with integrating students with learning difficulties in cooperation with the New York Dance Institute and funded by CLE.

On the other hand, 15 students from OBK’s Grade 12 joined the Leadership Program organized by Haigazian University in collaboration with “WAZNAT.”

Meanwhile, Mr. Talal Dandashli and the students Yara Itani and Lea Kassab from KBWH, won the second place and the bronze medal in the “Medicine and Surgeries” category for their innovation “Automatic System for Symptom Awareness and Response Aid” at the 13th International Exhibition of Inventions in the Middle East in Kuwait.

And on the 17th of October, Khadija Al Kubra High School students organized a science fair on the occasion of “Fete de La Science”, which is one of the projects of the French curriculum.

The Makassed Professional Development Day was held on December 22nd, 2022 at Khaled Bin Al Walid College, where 425 Makassed trainees attended about 37 training workshops presented by 47 trainers.

Twenty workshop sessions included professional educational topics and 17 other workshops dealt with psychological well-being.

The first University Fair was also launched at Khaled Ben Al-Walid College with the participation of 14 private universities in Lebanon. Around 400 secondary students from all Makassed schools had the opportunity to get hands on information needed regarding majors, admissions, financial aid, and scholarships.
