By admin 0 44 Views

Makassed’s Volunteers Unit Winter Camp placed a profound emphasis on the Palestinian Cause, rallying 130 volunteers from diverse Makassed colleges in Ain Zhalta.

Under the rallying cry of “Palestine, the Land of Dignity and Pride,” the camp instilled in the youth a deep understanding of the Palestinian struggle. From the Nakba and its massacres in 1948 to the ongoing occupation, participants recounted the Palestinian resilience amidst adversities.

The inaugural day saw an array of educational activities, as nine teams engaged in friendly rivalry. At night, a fire-side dialogue centered on the plight of Palestinians, particularly those enduring the recent onslaught in Gaza. Participants also savored traditional Palestinian cuisine, a symbolic gesture of solidarity and awareness.

The evening concluded with a theatrical representation, during which student Ghaith Kronfol, from Ali bin Abi Talib College, delivered an inspiring speech that left a lasting impact on all present.

Since October 7, the Israeli army has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, leaving more than 17,487 martyrs and 46,480 wounded, most of them children and women, massive destruction of infrastructure, and an “unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe,” according to official Palestinian and UN sources.

The following day, a major entertainment event fostered unity among attendees.
